“You have to maintain good relations, intimate contact and coordination with all the agencies apart from developing a foolproof security system. At the same time, the issue of VIPs’ relations with people should be considered seriously. You should always remain alert so that people don’t get hurt by your behaviour,” he said.
The President was speaking at a celebration programme at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre, marking the 33rd founding anniversary of SSF.
Abdul Hamid said SSF will have to be established as a smart and time-befitting force to ensure the security of VIPs. “Advanced training at home and abroad, the use of sophisticated equipment and technology will have to be ensured to this end,” he said.
Hailing SSF’s successful journey since its inception in addressing the challenges and barriers to ever-changing security issues through improved morale, uncompromising loyalty and high professionalism, he said, “I’m happy to know that all the state and government leaders who visited Bangladesh during this time praised SSF's competence and professionalism. I firmly believe members of this force will continue to maintain their high quality of professionalism and perform the assigned responsibilities in the future.”
Mentioning that the security of VIPs is very important and challenging due to the political perspective, conspiracy by the anti-liberation forces and international terrorism, the President said, “You have to build the SSF as a smart and time-befitting security force as ensuring the security of the very important persons (VIPs) of the state reflects the highest level security of a state.”
He also asked the SSF men to give priority to training at home and abroad, procuring modern equipment and embracing technologies and maintaining highest caution for selecting the SSF agents.
Abdul Hamid expressed the belief that the addition of sophisticated technologies and equipment will not only increase the capability of SSF members but also make them more self-reliant and confident in carrying out their responsibilities.
