Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Wednesday forecast light to moderate rain over parts of the country for next 24 hours starting from 6pm today.
“Light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at manyplaces over Dhaka, Rangpur, Mymensingh & Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal & Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country,” said Met office release.
Day and night temperature may rise slightly over the country, said the release.
The axis of monsoon trough runs through Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of
Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay.
Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and weak to moderate over North Bay.
Rain and thunder showers activity may decrease in the next two days.
Country’s highest temperature was 34.4 degree Celsius in Dhaka and the lowest 24 degree Celsius in Sylhet.
The sun rises in the capital at 5:39am and the sun sets at 5:54pm.
