MIDAS Chairman Anjan Chowdhury attended the function as the chief guest held on Wednesday, said a press release on Thursday.
MIDAS Director Rokia Afzal Rahman, Canadian High Commissioner in Dhaka Benoit Prefontaine, President of Switzerland-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry Naquib Khan, President of CanCham Bangladesh Masud Rahman and President of France-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry Maruf Alam were, among others, present.
Masud Rahman said trade relations, investment and job creation are the main dimensions of Bangladesh’s international relations and Francophonie countries are strong development partners of Bangladesh, adding that theme of Francophonie Week 2019 in Bangladesh was Women’s Rights.
During this week, the three Francophonie Chambers created “Francophonie Week Business Award 2019” and awarded two organisations, working for women’s rights and development of women entrepreneurs.
Razia Sultana Rini of Bornil Fashion House, Pabna, was awarded for her outstanding performance as an entrepreneur and creating jobs for women.
MIDAS had played a pioneering role to make her a successful entrepreneur, said the press release.
MIDAS was also awarded Francophonie Week Business Award 2019 on March 20 for its laudable contribution to the development of entrepreneurship, especially, women entrepreneurs in Bangladesh since 1982.
Masud Rahman encouraged MIDAS to work with Francophonie countries in future for further expansion of its role for women entrepreneurship development.
