Dhaka July 1 (UNB) – Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Monday said no one from anti-liberation parties will be allowed to sneak into Awami League as the ruling party has started its member collection drive.
“We didn’t field any anti-liberation element for the recent local body election. Awami League won’t allow any such people to be its members,” he said.
He made the remarks while replying to queries from reporters at the Secretariat whether those involved with BNP-Jamaat would be allowed to get involved with Awami League.
The minister said anti-liberation people will be identified on party basis and intelligence agencies will look into the matter, if needed.
Referring to Awami League’s fresh member collection drive, Quader, also the Awami League General Secretary, said the drive will start on July 21.
