Pabna, Sept 2 (UNB) – Transport workers, who went on an indefinite strike on Monday morning demanding a hike in their wages, withdrew the strike in the afternoon following assurance from owners to meet their demand.
Alal Hossain, Senior Line Secretary of Pabna Motor Workers’ Union, said Golam Faruque Prince, MP, sat with them and representatives of Motor Owners’ Association in the afternoon where the transport owners assured them of meeting their demand.
Earlier, transport workers went on the indefinite strike demanding an increase in their wages, halting road communications of the district with Dhaka and Chattogram.
