Dhaka, May 30 (UNB) - President Abdul Hamid on Thursday attended Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
First lady Rashida Khanom and Liberation War Affairs Minister AK Mozammel Haque also joined the programme.
The delegation, including the President, attended an official banquet dinner at the same venue.
Modi and his party BJP secured a resounding victory in the national election giving him another five years to lead the country. Leaders of Bimstec member countries also joined his oath-taking ceremony.
President Hamid went to New Delhi on Wednesday. Secretary of India’s Ministry of External Affairs and Bangladeshi high commissioner received the President at Palam Airport.
Modi is scheduled to meet President Hamid at Hyderabad House on Friday.
The President will return home on Friday afternoon.
