Dhaka, Sept 4 (UNB) – Rail communications of Sylhet with other parts of the country resumed on Wednesday afternoon after four hours of suspension following the derailment of an express train in Fenchuganj upazila.
An oil-laden bogie of Jalalabad Express veered off the tracks at Mallickpur around 11:30am, halting train communications on Sylhet-Dhaka and Sylhet-Chattogram routes, said Ataur Rahman, station master of Maijgaon Railway Station.
On information, a relief train rushed in and salvaged the derailed bogie, thus restoring the rail link around 3:30pm.
