DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated the exhibition organised with a pledge to make artworks a medium of intellectual exercise for social development.
The exhibition will remain open from 11am to 8pm every day continue until November 17.
A total of 72 artworks of 60 artists have been put on display at the exhibition.
DU Fine Art faculty Dean Prof Nisar Hossain and noted cartoonist Prof Rafiqun Nabi addressed the function as special guests with Drawing and Painting department Chairperson Shishir Kumer Battacharja in the chair.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Akhtaruzzaman said through this exhibition, the students of Fine Art will be able to present their artistic excellence and creativity necessary for flourishing modern fine arts. “These artworks are creative and symbols of non-communalism. These artworks and creativities have also the power for social advancement,” he added.
