Chattogram, Apr 15 (UNB) – A young man was shot to death by miscreants at Dakkhin Saral village in Banshkhali upazila early Monday.
The deceased was identified as Abul Kalam, 37, of the village.
Family sources said Kalam was injured in a gun attack earlier on November 2 last. He filed a case against some miscreants in this regard.
Since the filing of the case, the criminals had been threatening him to withdraw the case, said victim’s brother Abul Hashem.
He said a group of hoodlums opened fire on Kalam around 3am when he went to bring oral rehydration saline from the medicine shop owned by Hashem near their house, leaving him dead on the spot.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to hospital morgue for autopsy, said officer-in-charge of Banshkhali Police Station M Kamal Hossain.
He said Kalam might have been murdered following previous enmity. “We’ve launched a drive to arrest the killers.”
