Dhaka, Dec 5 (UNB) – President of Bikolpa Dhara Bangladesh (BDB) Dr AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury on Wednesday said their party wants an inclusive election where people will be able to cast their votes freely.
“”We’re waiting for a participatory election. We want the voters to freely exercise their voting rights in the polls,” he said.
B Chowdhury, also a former president, came up with the remarks while exchanging views with a delegation of the US-based National Democratic Institute (NDI) at his Baridhara residence.
The NDI team members, including its director for gender, women and democracy Sandra Pepera, senior associate and director of political party programs Ivan Doherty and NDI programme officer for Asia Maeve Whelan-Wuest, went to the BDB chief’s residence around 6pm and held an hour-long meeting with him.
BDB secretary general Abdul Mannan and presidium member Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury were, among others, present at the meeting.
