Dhaka, Jan 21 (UNB) – Akij School & College emerged men’s junior champions in the two-day Walton National School/College Taekwondo Competition that concluded on Monday at the National Sports Council gymnasium here.
Sirajganj Zila School finished first runners-up while Rajshahi Zila School became 2nd runners-up in the event.
In the women’s junior group, Adamjee College clinched the title while Bani Street School & College finished first runners-up and Cumilla Zila School became 2nd runners-up.
Head of the Sports and Welfare Department of the meet’s sponsor Walton Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar was the chief guest at the day’s closing function and later he distributed the prizes.
President of Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation Kazi Morshed Hossain Kamal and general secretary Mahmudul Islam Rana were also present on the occasion.
Some 500 players, including 150 girls, from different schools and colleges of the country took part in the two-day meet.
