10,500 HSC, equivalent examinees to get scholarship: DSHE
As many as 10,500 students will get scholarships based on the results of Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and its equivalent examinations of 2023.

Of them, 1125 students under nine general boards will be given merit scholarships while 9,375 general scholarships.
A notice, signed by Prof. Nehal Ahmed, Director General of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE), was issued in this regard on Tuesday.

The education boards have been instructed to publish a gazette in this regard within January 21.
Those who will get the scholarship under merit list will be provided Tk 825 per month and a lump sum Tk 1,800 once a year and the students under general list will be given Tk 375 per month and the lump sum Tk 750 once a year.

HSC, equivalent exams 2023: Number of GPA-5 falls by almost 50%
A total of 92,0365 students have received GPA-5 in 2023 HSC and equivalent exams – an almost 50 percent decline compared to 2022. In 2022, a total of 176,282 students obtained GPA-5.
Education Minister Dipu Moni handed over the result summary to the prime minister earlier this morning (November 26, 2023).

Later, chairmen of different education boards handed over the results of their respective boards to the PM.
This year, a total of 13,74,488 students sat for HSC and equivalent exams from August 17 to September 25. Of them, 698,135 are boys, and 676,353 are girls.

SSC and HSC 2024 will be held in February, April: Education Minister
The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent exams for 2024 will be held in February while Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent exams will be held in April, Bangladesh's Education Minister Dipu Moni said today (August 17, 2023).
“For the past several years, the authorities concerned had to rearrange the academic calendar due to the Covid-19 pandemic and natural disaster, but it will be fully set from next year,” she hoped.
The minister came up with the information while talking to reporters after visiting an SSC exam hall at Tejgaon College in Dhaka.
“We will try our level best to hold HSC exams in April and SSC exams in February, from next year,” she added.

Dipu Moni claimed that there has been no question paper leak in public exams in the last five years. “We have been on alert to prevent question paper leak since 2015 and I hope there will be no untoward incident during this year’s HSC exams.”
If anyone tried to spread rumours, law enforcing agencies will take stern action against them, she said.

Students will sit for Bangla first paper exam on the first day, from 10 am.
A total of 13,59, 342 students — 6,88, 887 boys and 6,70,455 girls — are expected to sit for this year’s HSC exams, 1,55,935 more than the previous year.
HSC selection test to begin from May 30
Like the previous years, students have to enter their respective exam halls 30 minutes before the exam starts.
According to the routine, HSC written exams will continue till September 25 while practical exams will be held from September 26 to October 4.

HSC selection test to begin from May 30
The selection test for Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) will start in colleges from May 30.
Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board issued a notice in this regard on Thursday.
All the educational institutions have been asked to complete the selection test within June 21.

The decision is applicable for Dhaka, Rajshahi, Jashore, Cumilla, Chattogram, Barishal, Sylhet, Dinajpur, Mymensingh, Bangladesh Madrasha and Technical Education Board and the controller of examinations of Bangladesh Inter-Education Board.
The authorities concerned have been asked to take necessary steps in this regard.
Working at brick kiln, Thakurgaon’s Raju still managed to score GPA 5 in HSC
Thakurgaon’s Raju Hossain’s life has always been a story of struggle with poverty. He had to work in a brick kiln to bear his education expenses. His sacrifice and hard work paid off, as the recently published HSC results gave him and his family a reason to celebrate. Concerns over his future still remain, however.
Raju passed with the highest grade, GPA 5, from humanities group. He appeared in the HSC exams from Ranisankail Degree College in Thakurgaon under Dinajpur Education Board.
“Though I should be celebrating, I’m actually very concerned right now. I have no idea how I would manage all of the necessary university expenses. I want to study law,” Raju said in a tensed voice.
Raju recalled always working and often having only one meal a day at times.

“I still didn’t lose hope and continued my studies,” the youth said.
After his HSC exam, he sought loans from an NGO to pay for his coaching class – for university admission – fees. However, he had to quit taking coaching classes because it was difficult to cover all the expenses with that amount.
Raju’s father Anwar Hossain is a van-puller, and his mother Nazma Begum works in a cold storage facility. Because of the family’s financial situation, Raju’s younger sibling had to drop out of school.
Raju began working various jobs in the hopes of improving his family’s financial situation. He worked as a van-puller in addition to working in a brick kiln.

“My son suffered a lot. I’m overjoyed with his accomplishment. At the same time, I am concerned about how he will continue his studies,” Raju’s mother said.
Raju’s teacher, Ranisankail Degree College’s lecturer, Safikur Islam Alam said, as Raju had to work as a day labourer, he was not regular in classes.
“We are aware of his hardship. We are proud of him,” he said.
The teacher urged the local affluent people to come to Raju’s aid so that the bright student can continue his studies and fulfil his dream of studying law.

Local Union Parishad chairman Abdul Bari said he was not aware of Raju’s case.
“I’m delighted to learn this. I will personally assist him with his educational expenses,” he said.
Sohel Sultan Zulkar Nain, UNO of Ranisankail, said the upazila administration will help Raju. “Raju has proven that if there’s a will, there’s a way. I will personally help him too.”

Obtain trainings on skills dev, especially on ICT: PM tells students while publishing HSC results
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today asked students to acquire special training on skills development on different subjects, especially on ICT, for taking advantage of the immense opportunities in the job market.
“This is the digital era; you have to keep your eyes on this. If you do that, you will get more opportunities in the job market,” she said.
The prime minister said this on the occasion of publishing Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent exam results at her office (PMO).
Sheikh Hasina asked students to take skills development trainings, particularly on ICT, during their free time – to make them better prepared for the digital age.
“Bachelor’s or master’s alone won’t be enough; you need special knowledge in any subject to expand job opportunities at home and abroad,” the PM said.
She asked students not to waste their time and get trainings that the government is providing across the country.
Sheikh Hasina asked concerned persons and authorities to put more attention on research.
“Our research work on agriculture is going well; I will ask you to give more attention to other subjects,” she said.

She said that without research it would not be possible to attain knowledge on the latest developments.
The PM said that no country can be developed without having a literate nation. “We want a poverty-free Bangladesh. And for that we urgently need literate people.”
In this connection, she said that the government has diversified education.
“We have given special attention on education so that our children can cope with the continuously developing world. We are providing scopes to get higher education in every district. This will ensure employment too,” she said.
She said that the government has set up subject-focused universities which are required to keep up with the rest of the world.
She highly praised students for continuing their studies during the coronavirus pandemic and Russia-Ukraine war, sanctions and counter-sanctions – that have created a restless situation across the globe.
“Within this situation, our children continued their education, sat for exams, and passed the exams – this is no small achievement.”

She congratulated those who have passed in the exams and their guardians.
“And those who did not manage to pass the exams, I would urge them not to be depressed. Start preparing for the next exam with determination.”
Considering the pass rate for female students is higher than their male counterparts, she asked the latter to be more attentive in their studies.
Sheikh Hasina said that children of the country are brilliant, and if they are given the opportunities, they can achieve anything.

A total of 10,11, 987 examinees, out of 11,77, 387, passed the 2022 exams under 11 education boards of the country. The number was 13,06,718 in 2021.
For 2022, a total of 1,76,282 students secured the highest grade, GPA 5, compared to 1,89,169 in 2021.
How to see your HSC 2022 result
The results of 2022 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations of 2022 are being published today. The results will be officially announced at the International Mother Language Institute in Segunbagicha, Dhaka at 12:30 pm.
The results will be uploaded on the website of the respective education boards from 11:30 am. From then onwards, anyone can check his/her result via mobile SMS and on the website with roll and registration numbers.
HOW TO GET 2022 HSC AND EQUIVALENT EXAM RESULTS ON MOBILE PHONE
To get the result through SMS, a candidate will have to send an SMS typing HSC, and then write the first three letters of the respective education board. Then write the roll number with a space and write the year of exam with another space. Finally send it to 16222. Result will be sent in return SMS.
Example: “HSC DHA 34**** 2022” and sent to 16222
HOW TO SEE ALIM RESULT
To get Alim result, write ALIM, and then write MAD with a space, and then write roll number with another space, write the year of exam and send to 16222.
Example: “ALIM MAD 34**** 2022” and sent to 16222

HOW TO SEE TECHNICAL EDUCATION BOARD RESULT
In case of Technical Education Board, write HSC, and then write TEC with a space, write the roll number with another space and write the year of exam and send it to 16222.
Example: “HSC TEC 34**** 2022” and sent to 16222Candidates can also get their results from http://www.educationboardresults.gov.bd entering roll and registration numbers.
HSC 2022 results on Feb 8
Results of 2022 HSC and equivalent exams will be published on February 8.
Tapan Kumar Sarker, convener of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and Dhaka Education Board Chairman, confirmed the information to UNB today.

“A proposal was sent to the Ministry of Education to publish the results between February 7 and 9. The prime minister set February 8 as the date,” he said.
HSC and equivalent exams were held from November 6 to December 13 last year.
A total of 1,203,407 examinees completed their registration to sit for the exams. Of them, 6,22,769 were boys and 5,80,611 were girls.
