Missing college student found dead in Rajshahi
Police on Friday recovered the body of a college student from Belpukur area in Puthia upazila of Rajshahi, two days after he had gone missing.
The deceased was identified as Hasibur Rahman Sagar, 19, of the upazila. He was a Class-XI of Belpukur Ideal Degree College.

Sagar’s relatives spotted his body in Belpukur rail crossing area in the morning and alerted police.
Sagor’s father Sahad Ali said he went to visit Green Valley Park in Natore's Lalpur upazila with his friends and had been missing since then.
He also lodged a general diary with Belpukur Police Station.
Police suspected that Sagar was killed two days ago after being hit on his head.

Moniruzzaman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Belpukur police station, said they informed the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to collect the evidence from the spot.
GRP police were also informed for taking legal steps as the spot is under this station, said the OC.
2 sisters found dead after father takes them out for Eid shopping
Two sisters were found dead on Sunday two days after their father took them with him promising to buy dresses for Eid-ul-Fitr in Sundarganj upazila of Gaibandha.
Police recovered the bodies of Hashi,12, and Khushi,13 from the Teesta River at Haripur village on Sunday after they remained missing for the last two days, Iftekharul Mokaddem, officer-in-Charge of Sundarganj police station.
Aduri Begum, mother of the two girls, alleged that their father and her ex-husband Hamidur Rahman, resident of Kani Charitabari village, killed the two girls.

Aduri Begum said she was living with her two daughters at her father’s house in Bajra village in Kurigram since Hamidul divorced her over a family fued.
“Two days ago Hamidul came to Bajra and took Hashi and Khushi saying he would buy Eid dresses for them. But they remained missing since then,”said Aduri Begum.
Meanwhile, locals of Haripur village on Sunday noon found the floating bodies of the two girls in the river and informed police.

OC Iftekharul Mokaddem,” We are investigating the matter. It might be a murder incident as the father remained absconding since the recovery of the bodies.”
55-yr-old Hindu woman found dead in Kushtia
A 55-year-old Hindu woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances in her flat in Kushtia city on Monday evening.
The deceased was identified as Shefali Biswash, the wife of a retired engineer of the Bangladesh Power Development Board, Ananda Kumar Biswash. Police and family members suspect she was murdered.
Shefali lived with her husband in the second-floor flat of an apartment building in D block of a housing society in the city.

"On Monday evening, I went to the fourth floor to oversee some construction work. After returning, I found a severely injured Shefali lying on the floor,” Ananda said.
Shefali was rushed to a nearby hospital, but she soon succumbed to her injuries, he said.
Ananda suspects his wife was killed by burglars, while her brother Dipak claimed that it was a planned murder.

Swapan Kumar, an inspector of Kushtia Criminal Investigation Department (CID), said a forensic team has collected evidence from the spot for investigation.
“Prima-facie, it seems to be a planned murder. A probe is on,” he said.
Sabbirul Alam, officer-in-charge of Kushtia Model police station, said the woman's body has been sent for an autopsy.
10-yr-old student found dead in Ctg madrasa
The body of a 10-year-old student was found stuffed in a sack at a madrasa in the Panchlaish area of Chattogram city on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Md Arman, son of Ali Abbas of the area. He was a student at Ali Bin Abi Talib Madrasa.

Police recovered Arman's body from the premises of the madrasa around 11am. One of his hands was broken and the body bore many injury marks, said inspector Sadekur Rahman of Panchlaish Model Police Station.
Mokhlesur Rahman, deputy commissioner of Chattogram Metropolitan Police, said that Arman might have died after falling from the roof. “We will investigate the matter.”
The body was sent to the Chattogram Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) morgue for an autopsy, said the inspector.

Earlier on Saturday, police recovered the body of another madrasa student, Iftekhar Malekul Mashfi, from Allama Shah Ashiar Rahman Hefzkhana and Orphanage in Charandwip of Boalkhali upazila of the city.
A madrasa teacher, Abu Jafar, was held in connection with the recovery of the body.
Cop found dead next to his bike in Rajshahi
A 40-year-old police officer was found dead next to his bike off a busy road in Godagari upazila of Rajshahi in the early hours of Saturday.
The body of Nur Islam, a sub-inspector with Chapainawabganj Sadar Police Station, was found off Godagari-Amanura Road in the Bhutpukur area of the upazila at 12.30am.
Police suspect the officer, who was originally from Abhaynagar upazila of Jessore, died in a road accident as his bike was found lying next to him.

Godagari police recovered the body after they were alerted by passersby and sent it to the Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) morgue for an autopsy.
Godagari police station officer-in-charge Kamrul Islam said, "It is believed that Nur died of head injuries after his bike crashed into a tree at a high speed."

However, the autopsy report can only ascertain the exact cause of his death.
Councillor's daughter, a law student, found dead in Natore
A final-year law student was found dead in her rented accommodation in Natore municipality on Tuesday, police said.
The deceased was identified as Poly Khatun, 27, a student of Rajshahi Law College and daughter of Naldanga municipal ward councillor Shamsunnahar.
Police said that neighbours found Poly's body hanging from the ceiling of her room in the morning and alerted them.

Poly’s mother Shamsunnahar alleged that her son-in-law, Shariful Islam Piash, another ward councillor of Naldanga municipality, used to torture her daughter regularly.
Munsur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sadar police station, said the body has been sent for an autopsy. "The allegations are being investigated."
Newly wed couple found hanging in Gazipur house
A newly wed couple was found hanging from the ceiling of their house in the Safipur area of Gazipur's Kaliakoir upazila on Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Akash Hossain, 21, son of Rahidul Islam, and his wife Salma Akter, 18, of Safipur Dakkhinpara area of the upazila.
According to locals, Akash and Salma got married two months back and had been living in the house since then.

In fact, the locals peeped through the window of the house and found the two hanging, said Saiful Alam, sub-inspector at Kaliakoir Police Station.
On information, police recovered the bodies after breaking open the house door and sent the same to Shaheed Tajuddin Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem.
“The couple might have committed suicide. Their autopsy reports are awaited,” he said.

Dinajpur: Youth found dead on rly tracks in pieces
An 18-year-old youth was crushed to death by a speeding train in Dinajpur on Tuesday, police said.
The deceased was identified as Al-Amin, son of Mominul Islam from Dighan Hazipara village in Sadar upazila.
“We suspect the youth was run over by the Panchagarh-bound Kanchan Express in the morning,” said Abdus Sattar, a sub-inspector at Dinajpur railway police station.

His body parts were strewn on the tracks as the train had passed over. "The body parts have been handed over to his family members without an autopsy," he said.
However, Al-Amin’s family claimed that he ended his life as he had been suffering from mental illness.

9-year-old boy found dead in Barishal
The throat-slit body of a nine-year-old boy was recovered from Rupatoli area in the city on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Yasin, son of Sirajul Islam of the area.

Kotwali Model Police Station inspector(investigation) Lokman Hossain said local people found the slaughtered body of the boy near an abandoned toilet in the area and police recovered it around 9am.
The boy might have been slaughtered sometime at night, he said adding that the motive will be known after investigation

Teenage girl found dead at police station in Rangpur
A 19-year-old girl was found hanging from a ceiling fan at the Victim Support Centre of Kotwali Police Station in Rangpur city on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Ruhi, daughter of Sekendar Ali of Harinakunda upazila in Jhenaidah district.
Quoting local people, police said Ruhi developed a love affair with one Akash of Ram Gobindamore area of Rangpur city. Following their relationship, Ruhi came to the city to meet Akash on January 22.

After reaching a designated place Ruhi failed to see Akash and she also found his phone switched off.

Local people found Ruhi in the area alone late in the night and made a phone call to emergency service 999 around 3:30 am on Sunday and informed police.
Responding to the call, a team of police took her to the Victim Support Centre of Kotwali Police Station where she ‘killed herself by hanging from the ceiling fan’.
Mohammad Sazzad Hossain, deputy police commissioner of Metropolitan Police (DB media) said “Ruhi killed self by hanging herself from the ceiling fan.”
The body of Ruhi was taken to local hospital morgue for autopsy. The body will be handed over to Ruhi’s family after completing legal process, he said.
