Covid claims 46 more lives in Khulna division
Khulna division has logged 46 Covid-related deaths in the past 24 hours, health officials said on Tuesday.
According to the health director's office, 18 people died in Kushtia, nine in Khulna, four each in Chuadanga and Meherpur, two each in Bagerhat, Jashore, Narail, Magura and Jhenaidah, and one in Satkhira district.

The total death toll in the division has now reached 2,263, said the health officials.
Some 1,435 people tested positive for Covid-19 during the period, according to the divisional health department.
Some 89,883 cases have been detected in 10 districts of the division since the onset of Covid.

In Khulna division, the first case of Covid-19 was detected in Chuadanga on March 19, 2020.

Nineteen more Covid-related deaths were recorded at Kushtia General Hospital in 24 hours till Tuesday morning.
Of the deceased, 15 were confirmed Covid patients while the remaining four showed symptoms of the virus, said Md Mezbaul Alam, statistics officer at Kushtia General Hospital.

Besides, the district logged 253 fresh Covid cases in the past 24 hours after testing 675 samples during this period, he said.
The positivity rate in the district rose to 37.48% from Monday’s 33%.
Besides,182 patients with Covid symptoms are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital, the official said.

So far, 13,675 people have been found infected in the district, while 535 people have died of Covid-19.
Besides, 9,538 people have recovered in the district so far.

Twelve more Covid-related deaths were recorded at Kushtia General Hospital in 24 hours till Monday morning.
Of the deceased, 11 were confirmed Covid patients while the remaining three showed symptoms of the virus, said Dr MA Momen, administrator of Kushtia General Hospital.

Besides, the district logged 223 fresh Covid cases in the past 24 hours after testing 666 samples during this period, said Dr Momen.
The positivity rate in the district currently stands at 33%.

Besides,190 patients with Covid symptoms are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital, the official said.
So far, 13,442 people have been found infected in the district, while 310 people have died of Covid-19.

Besides, 260 people have tested positive for the virus in the district in the past 24 hours and 841 samples were tested during the period, he said.
The positivity rate currently stands at 30.91%.

Meanwhile, the number of Covid-19 patients in the hospital has slightly decreased. A total of 208 people with Covid symptoms are currently undergoing treatment at the leading medical facility.
So far, 13,199 people have been infected with the virus in the district, while the death toll from Covid topped 504. On the other hand, 9,065 people have recovered from Covid to date.

Kushtia General Hospital on Friday morning reported 17 more Covid-related deaths in 24 hours amid an alarming surge in the number of new infections in the district.
Of the deceased, 11 were confirmed Covid patients while the remaining six showed symptoms of the virus, said Statistics Officer of Kushtia General Hospital, Md Mejbaul Alam.

Besides, 57 people have tested positive for corona in the district in the past 24 hours. "Some 177 samples were tested during the period," he said. The positivity rate currently stands at 32.20%.
Meanwhile, the number of Covid-19 patients in the hospital has marginally decreased. A total of 235 people with Covid symptoms are currently undergoing treatment at the leading medical facility.

So far, 12,872 people have been infected with the virus in the district, while the death toll from Covid topped 471. On the other hand, 8,687 people have recovered from Covid to date.

In the past 24 hours, some 421 people have tested positive for Covid. "Some 1,262 samples were tested during the period," said Mejbaul.

The new cases have taken the infection rate to 33.36 percent in the district, he added.
So far, 12,592 people have been identified with Covid-19 infection in the district. Of them, 423 have died and 7,994 recovered in to date, officials said.

Moreover, a total of 250 patients with Covid symptoms are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital.
So far, 11,967 people have been infected with the virus in the district, while the death toll stands at 395. On the other hand, 7,720 people have recovered from Covid in the district to date.
11 more die of Covid in Kushtia
Eleven more people have died of Covid-19 at Kushtia General Hospital (KGH) in the past 24 hours, authorities said on Saturday.
Of the deceased, seven were confirmed Covid-19 patients and four had symptoms of the virus, said KGH's Md Mejbaul Alam.
Some 285 Covid patients are currently undergoing treatment at the 250-bed hospital.

During the past 24 hours, 88 people have tested positive out of 280 PCR laboratory tests, which have taken the infection rate to 31.42 percent in the district.
So far, 11,762 people have been identified with Covid-19 infection. Of them, 387 have died and 7,525 recovered in the district to date, officials said.
As Bangladesh continues to struggle with the deadly second wave of Covid-19, the new figures took the death tally to 17,465 and the caseload to 10,83,922, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said on Friday.

10 more die of Covid at Kushtia hospital
Ten more people have died of Covid-19 at Kushtia General Hospital in the past 24 hours, officials said on Friday.
Of the deceased, seven had tested positive for Covid while the remaining three showed symptoms of the virus, said administrator of the hospital, Dr MA Momen.

As many as 280 patients are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital's 250-bed Covid unit. Of them, 219 are confirmed Covid patients, officials said.
Meanwhile, 203 more people in the district have contracted the virus. Some 735 samples have been tested for Covid in the past 24 hours. This puts the district's case positivity rate at 27.61 percent.

The new numbers took Kushtia’s Covid caseload to 11,674 on Friday, while the death toll mounted to 380. So far, 7,335 people in the district have recovered from the virus.
Two bulls poisoned to death in Kushtia
Two bulls belonging to a farmer have been allegedly poisoned to death in the Majlishpur area of Kushtia's Mirpur upazila ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.
Quoting local people, Golam Mostafa, officer-in-charge of Mirpur Police Station, said that Rafi Fakir, a local farmer, reared the animals so as to sell them during the Muslim festival.

"Rafi had taken Tk 1.70 lakh from a person for the bulls and was scheduled to deliver the animals on Thursday. But in the morning, he found them lying dead in the cattle shed," the OC said.

Mirpur Upazila livestock officer Dr Sohag Rana said that legal action would be taken against those involved in the crime. "Police are investigating the deaths," he said.
