Refrain from keeping dirt on road: DSCC mayor asks WASA
Issuing a warning note, Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh on Sunday asked the Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (Wasa) to refrain from dumping dirt on road, otherwise to face action.
“You (Wasa) are not allowed to keep dirt on the road after cleaning drains and legal action including realisation of fine will be taken if found dirt on the open road,” he said while inaugurating a year-long sewer cleaning activities near Muktijoddha Sangshad under War No 22 in the city.
Mentioning that the sewer cleaning activities will be conducted for the whole year, the DSCC Mayor said “The drive will continue and the sewer will be cleaned two times in a month in each ward of the city.”
He also urged the local people to inform the authorities concerned of city corporations if they notice any waterlog situation or overflows of sewer, through councillors concerned.
