Bangladesh’s total Covid fatalities stand at 28,010 with 5 more deaths
Bangladesh logged five more Covid-linked deaths along with 291 fresh cases in 24 hours till Tuesday morning.
With the latest cases, the daily-case positivity rate increased again to 1.45 per cent from Monday’s 1.44 per cent, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

With the fresh numbers, the total fatalities rose to 28,010 while the caseload mounted to 15,78,011.
Among the latest deceased, four were men and one was a woman. Four deaths were reported from Dhaka division while one was from Chattogram division.
However, the mortality rate remained static at 1.78 per cent during the period.
The fresh cases were detected after testing 19,868 samples, amid the growing concern over the new ‘Omicron’ variant of coronavirus.
Besides, the recovery rate slightly increased to 97.78 per cent with the recovery of 308 more patients during the 24-hour period.
On November 20, Bangladesh logged this year’s first zero Covid-linked death with 178 cases.
Bangladesh reported the highest number of daily fatalities of 264 on August 5 this year, while the highest daily caseload was 16,230 on July 28 this year.

Of the 113 deaths recorded from November 1 to November 30, 12.4 per cent received Covid vaccines while 87.6 per cent did not, the DGHS mentioned.
So far, 3,84,97,417 people have fully been vaccinated in the country while 6,53,07,376 received the first dose as of Monday, according to the DGHS.
Among them, 1,39,802 students, aged from 12-17, have fully been vaccinated while 9,70,160 students received the first dose so far.

With the latest cases, the daily-case positivity rate rose to 1.50 per cent from Tuesday’s 1.38 per cent, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
With the fresh numbers, the total fatalities rose to 27,983 while the caseload mounted to 15,76,566 amid the growing concern over the new ‘Omicron’ variant of coronavirus.

Among the latest deceased, one was a woman and another man. The deaths were reported from the Dhaka and Khulna division.
However, the mortality rate declined to 1.77 per cent.
The fresh cases were detected after testing 18,928 samples, the DGHS added.
Besides, the recovery rate increased to 97.77 per cent with the recovery of 383 more patients during the 24-hour period.

Meanwhile, the government will administer Covid-19 booster doses to senior citizens aged above 60, but the date for the campaign has not yet been decided, Health Minister Zahid Maleque said on Tuesday.
“We’ll sit later to set the date. We’ve a plan to provide booster dose to those who are seriously ill,” he said while talking to reporters after an inter-ministerial meeting on Covid-19 at the ministry.
He said the meeting discussed measures on how to prevent Omicron, a new powerful variant of the infection, from entering the country and contain its spread.
Covid-19: Bangladesh reports 3 more deaths
Bangladesh reported three more Covid-linked deaths for the second consecutive day along with 312 fresh cases in 24 hours till Wednesday morning.
With this, the daily case positivity rate rose to 1.49 per cent today from Tuesday’s 1.45 per cent, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The positivity rate kept rising for the last three days as it was 1.42 per cent on Monday and 1.16 on Sunday.
Among the deceased, two were women and one was a man. Each of the deceased was from Chattogram, Rajshahi and Khulna divisions.
With the fresh numbers, the total fatalities rose to 27,961 while the caseload mounted to 1,574,948.
However, the mortality rate remained static at 1.78 per cent.
The fresh cases were detected after testing 20,770 samples, the DGHS added.

Besides, the recovery rate remained static at 97.73 per cent with the recovery of 338 more patients during the 24-hour period.
On Saturday, Bangladesh logged zero Covid-linked deaths with 178 cases.
So far, 3,54,14,244 people have fully been vaccinated in the country while 5,64,02,543 received the first dose as of Tuesday, according to the DGHS.

On Saturday, Bangladesh logged zero Covid-linked deaths with 178 cases.
So far, 3,51,20,061 people have fully been vaccinated in the country while 5,52,99,550 received the first dose as of Monday, according to the DGHS.
Covid in Bangladesh: Six more lives lost in 24 hours
Covid-19 in Bangladesh claimed six more lives and infected another 293 people in 24 hours till Saturday morning.
The daily-case positivity rate dropped to 1.88 per cent today declining slightly from Friday’s 2.09 per cent.
It is the lowest daily cases logged in the country since May 15 when 261 people contracted the virus in a single day.

On October 14, Bangladesh logged seven Covid-related deaths.
With the fresh numbers, the Covid fatalities reached 27,752 today while the caseload climbed to 1,565,174, according to the Directorate General of the Health services (DGHS).
Of the latest deceased, four were men and two were women.
However, the mortality rate remained static at 1.77 per cent.

Besides, the recovery rate increased slightly to 97.58 per cent, with 442 more patients getting cured during the period.
So far, 1,527,333people have recovered from the deadly virus infections, the DGHS added.

Covid-19 claimed nine more lives in Bangladesh and infected 396 others in 24 hours till Friday morning.
With the fresh numbers, the Covid-19 fatalities reached 27,746 in the country while the caseload rose to 15,64,881, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Of the latest deceased, five were women and four men.
Six of them died in Dhaka division, two in Chattogram and one in Sylhet divisions.
Bangladesh last logged seven Covid-19 deaths on October 8, the lowest since March 17 this year when the country recorded 11 such deaths.
The fresh cases were detected after testing 18,980 samples.
With this, the daily-case positivity rate declined slightly to 2.09 per cent. However, the mortality rate remained static at 1.77 per cent.

Besides, the recovery rate increased slightly to 97.57 per cent, with 523 more patients getting cured during the period.
So far, 15,26,891 people have recovered from the deadly virus infections, the DGHS added.
Covid-19: Daily death toll in Bangladesh falls to 7, lowest since March
Bangladesh logged seven Covid-19 deaths, the lowest since March, in 24 hours till Friday morning with 645 infections reported during this time.
The single-day daily death toll was the lowest since March 17 this year when the country recorded 11 Covid-related deaths.

The fresh cases were detected after testing 23,302 samples which have slightly decreased the daily-case positivity rate to 2.77 per cent from Thursday’s 2.97 per cent, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
With this, the daily-case positivity rate in the country remained below 5 per cent for the 15th consecutive day which marks the country ready for mass unlocking.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), if the daily-case positivity rate remains at 5 per cent or below for 14 days it is considered to be safe for mass unlocking.
In Bangladesh, the daily-case positivity rate reached its peak 32.55 per cent on July 24 this year.
The fresh numbers took the total fatalities to 27,654 while the caseload mounted to 15,61,463, the DGHS.

However, the mortality rate remained static at 1.77 per cent.
The recovery rate slightly increased to 97.51 per cent with the recovery of 814 more patients during this time.
So far, 15,22,591 people have recovered from the deadly virus infections, the DGHS added.
Covid in Bangladesh: 31 die, positivity rate drops to 4.54 per cent
Amid a declining positivity rate Covid-19 claimed 31 more lives and infected 1,233 others in the country in 24 hours till Friday morning.
The latest cases were detected after testing 27,557 samples showing a decline in the daily case positivity rate to 4.54 per cent from Thursday’s 4.61 per cent, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The case positivity rate is the lowest in around six months as the country last recorded 4.98 per cent daily case positivity rate on March 8 this year.

Meanwhile, it said, the fatality rate remained static at 1.76 per cent.
On Thursday, the country recorded lowest Covid deaths of 24 since May 15 when the country saw 22 single-day deaths.
Global Covid cases near 182 million
Covid-19 continues its onslaught across the world even with mass inoculations underway. In fact, the global corona caseload is fast approaching the 182-million mark.
The total caseload and fatalities stand at 181,750,422 and 3,936,629, respectively, as of Wednesday morning, according to Johns Hopkins University (JHU).
So far, 3,002,361,047 vaccine doses have been administered across the globe.

The US, which is the world's worst-hit country in terms of both cases and deaths, has so far logged 33,651,870 cases, according to JHU.
Besides, 604,457 people have lost their lives in the US to date.
Brazil registered 1,893 more deaths from Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, bringing the national death toll to 515,985, the health ministry said Tuesday.
A total of 64,903 new infections were detected during the period, raising the total caseload to 18,513,305, the ministry said.
India's Covid-19 tally rose to 30,316,897 on Tuesday, after 37,566 new infections were recorded in the past 24 hours, according to the federal health ministry.
The death toll increased to 397,637, with 907 more people succumbing to the virus since Monday morning.
Situation in Bangladesh
The Covid-19 situation in Bangladesh is gradually heading towards a grim level, with the country reporting 112 more deaths and 7,666 fresh infections in 24 hours till Tuesday morning.

With the new infections, the country’s positivity rate reached another peak of 23.97% from Monday’s 23.86%, which was recorded at 23.57% last on April 9 this year.
The percentage reached this shocking level after the test of 31,982 samples during the period, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
New infections have been averaging 5,000 for the past few days – 75% of the peak.
Bangladesh has reported over 100 deaths for the third consecutive day this month.
The country saw a record level of 8,436 Covid cases on Monday and the highest 119 deaths on Sunday since confirming its first cases on March 8 last year.
With the new numbers, the country’s death toll now stands at 14,388 and the caseload at 904,436.
However, the country’s fatality rate remained static at 1.59% while the recovery rate fell to 89.75% following a continuous drop.

Of the deaths, 35 were reported in Khulna on Tuesday, recording the highest among all divisions for the third consecutive day, 22 in Dhaka, 21 in Rajshahi, 16 in Chattogram, 10 in Rangpur, four in Mymensingh, three in Barishal and one in Sylhet divisions.
The Dhaka division remained the highest fatal region recording 7,562 deaths followed by Chattogram with 2,727 deaths, Khulna with 1,235 deaths and Rajshahi with 1,011 deaths.
The four divisions have crossed the 1,000-mark of Covid fatalities as of now.
14 more Covid patients die at RMCH in 24 hrs
Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital (RMCH) on Monday recorded 14 new Covid-related deaths in 24 hours.
Of the deceased, seven were confirmed Covid patients while the remaining seven exhibited symptoms of the virus, said hospital deputy director Saiful Ferdous.

Of the deceased, 11 were male and 3 female.
Of them, 7 were from Rajshahi, 5 from Chapainawabganj, 1 each from Naogaon and Natore district.
A total of 119 people died in Bangladesh in 24 hours until Sunday morning, the biggest figure since the pandemic hit the country.
During the period, 5,268 more people came out positive with Covid-19 in 24,400 sample tests, said a handout issued by Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The country’s daily positivity rate fell to 21.59% today from Saturday’s 22.50%.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh’s Covid fatality rate rose to 1.60% from Saturday’s 1.59%.
The government has enforced a “strict lockdown” on a limited scale from Monday as the Delta variant of the Covid-19 virus is spreading fast in the country.

The Cabinet Division issued a circular in this regard on Sunday.
The lockdown will remain in force from 6 am on June 28 to 6am on July 1, the circular said.
