Holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi marks the day of birth and passing away of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (pbuh). On this day in 570, the 12th of Rabiul Awal of the Hijri calendar, Muhammad (pbuh) was born in Makkah with divine blessings and messages of peace for mankind. He also passed away on the same day.
Devotees of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) joined in an elaborated procession in the capital called Jashn-e-Julus on Sunday brought out by Maizbhandar Darbar Sharif’ marking the day.
The devotees carried placards, festoons, banners with artfully written Islamic messages along with the national flag in the procession that started from city’s Suhrawardy Udyan and circled through Shabagh intersection, Doyel Chattar and road in front of Engineers Institutetion.
The Islamic Foundation’s arranged a fortnight-long special programme like delivering sermons on the life and works of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) after Maghrib and Isha prayers, recitation from the holy Quran, singing of Islamic songs, recitation of poems and organising seminars jointly with Bangladesh Betar.
