Jhenaidah, Oct 20 (UNB) - Two more people have died and two others fallen sick allegedly after taking excessive liquor during the Durga Puja celebrations at Balidapara in Kaliganj upazila in the district.

The deceased were identified as Subhankar Mitra Titu of Collegepara and Bappi of Balidapara village in the upazila.

Yunus Ali, officer-in-charge of Kaliganj Police Station, said a group of people swallowed excessive liquor on Friday night and fell sick.

Four of them were taken to Kaliganj Health Complex from where Titu and Bappi were sent to Jashore General Hospital. They died at the hospital in the early hours of Saturday, he said.

Earlier on Friday, Munna Das, 35, son of Akhil Das of Collegpara, died reportedly after drinking excessive liquor.
