Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members recovered 31 gold bars weighing 4.67 kg from Kakdanga bordering area here on Friday.
Lt Col Golam Mohiuddin Khandakar, BGB 33 battalion commander, said on secret information, a BGB patrol team conducted a drive in the area in the morning and stopped a motorbike.
The BGB men recovered the gold worth Tk 2.8 crore from a plastic packet kept on the motorbike.
Two riders of the motorbike managed to flee, he added.
