Of them, Nasrin Jabin, a student of the Department of Peace & Conflict Studies of Dhaka University (DU) was awarded ‘Tajuddin Ahmad Peace Gold Medal’ for securing the highest CGPA in BSS Honors examination of 2017.
Besides, Rabeya Akter Shathi, a student of the same department, received ‘Tajuddin Ahmad scholarship’ for her brilliant academic performance.
Five other students from different departments received ‘Tajuddin Ahmad Trust Fund Prizes’. The recipients of Tajuddin Ahmad Trust Fund prizes are Sumaiya Khanam (Botany), Suhrido Sadiq (Bangla), Tahmid Ul Islam (Sociology), Nafis Sadiq (Economics) and Saiful Islam Khan (History).
DU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Samad presided over the function while Member of the Trustee Board SiminHossain Rimi MP addressed it as special guest.
Donor of the Trust Fund Mrs. Sharmin Ahmad delivered welcome speech. Chairman of the Department of Peace & Conflict Studies of DU Md. Touhidul Islam gave vote of thanks. Registrar Md. Enamuzzaman conducted the program.
DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman urged the young generation to build themselves as honest and patriotic citizens following the ideals of Tajuddin Ahmad.
