The Anti Corruption Commission ( ACC) on Monday approved four cases against former member of parliament A. K. M. A. Awal Saydur Rahman and his wife Laila Parvin.
ACC spokesperson Pranab Kumar Bhattacharjee said a notice was also served to them for submitting their asset statement separately, while the cases will be filed very soon.
Pranab Kumar said that deputy director of ACC Mohammad Ali Akbar investigated the allegation and found the source of illegal assets.
The Commission will file file three cases against the former MP and one case will be filed against his wife, the ACC spokesperson also said.
Rahman was elected to Parliament from Pirojpur-1 in 2008 and re-elected on 5 January 2014 as a Bangladesh Awami League candidate.
On January 2012, he testified against Delwar Hossain Sayedee at the International Crimes Tribunal.
