Police arrested an autorickshaw driver for raping a class-five student for five days at several hotels after abducting her while she was on her way to school.
The autorickshaw driver was identified as Md Shoyeb, 19, a resident of the upazila.
Khan Nurul Islam, inspector (investigation) of Rangunia police station, said Shoyeb took away the girl to an unidentified spot in his vehicle after abducting her in Rangunia upazila of the district on November 20.
The victim’s father lodged a general diary at the local police station on November 21 after failing to find her, he said, adding that they rescued the girl from the residence of one of Shoyeb's relatives in Cox’s Bazar on Thursday.

Later, the victim’s mother filed a case under Women and Children Repression and Prevention Act accusing two people including Shoyeb on Thursday night. He was arrested from his house early Friday.
The victim was sent to Chattogram Medical College Hospital for a medical test on Friday, said Inspector Nurul, adding that the drive was on to nab the others accused.
