Dhaka, Sept 11 (UNB) - The Bangladesh Industrial Technical Assistance Centre (BITAC) Bill 2019 was placed in Parliament on Wednesday aiming to brining the BITAC under a legal framework.
Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun placed the bill and it was sent to the respective scrutiny committee. The committee was asked to submit its report within 30 days.
The BITAC has been running through a resolution since 1962 and there is no law.
As per the draft law, there will be a Board of Directors to run the centre.
The Industries Secretary will be the chairman of the 11-member board.
