Police have arrested Shahinul Islam Sujon, a fugitive convict sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of former Natore-1 MP Momtaz Uddin has been arrested from Rajshahi. He also happens to be a death row convict in the murder of Chhatra League leader Moazzem.
Sujon was arrested from Rajshahi's Manoranjanpur area on Monday afternoon, Natore Superintendent of Police Tariqul Islam confirmed. Police acted on a tip-off.

Former MP Momtaz Uddin was hacked to death by miscreants while returning home with party leaders on the night of June 6, 2003. On March 13, 2013, the court sentenced Sujon and nine others to life imprisonment in the case.

On March 1, 2002, Moazzem Hossain, vice-president of Arbab Union Chhatra League of Lalpur upazila, was killed by miscreants. The court sentenced Sujon and four others to death in the murder case. He has been on the run ever since.
