A doctor and three nurses were sent to home quarantine after they treated a coronavirus infected pregnant woman at the sadar hospital on Monday.
Civil Surgeon Dr Shams Uddin said the woman was admitted to the hospital on April 8 when her samples were collected and sent to Sylhet for test.
The physician and three nurses who treated the woman were sent to home quarantine after results of the test came out positive in the morning, he said.
“We’ve collected samples from the doctor and nurses and sent them for tests,” he added.
The woman’s husband returned from Narayanganj few days ago and she hid the information from doctors, Dr Shams said.
Resident physician of Sadar Hospital Dr Rafikul Islam said they are also collecting samples from others who came into contact with the doctor and nurses.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh on Sunday recorded the highest number of coronavirus cases in one day as 139 more people tested positive for the virus, raising the total number to 621.
Besides, four more people died from the virus during the period which has raised the total death toll to 34 while the global death toll from coronavirus reached 114,247 on Monday morning.
