Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) on Monday arrested four individuals, including a constable of police, on charge of extortion from Jamgora area of Ashulia.

The arrestees were Md Mominur Rahman, constable of Ashulia police, Abdul Hamid, Wahed and Wazed Sheikh.

Rab-4 Commander and Additional Superintendent of Police Jasim Uddin said they were demanding money illegally from a drug shop in Jamgora when law enforcers, tipped off earlier, arrested them.

Rab also seized various local weapons, fake currency, multiple national ID cards, 16 bank cards yaba and hemp from their procession, he said.
