Grameen Shakti has been providing food support to 1,750 underprivileged families in 10 districts of the country as part of its social and humanitarian responsibilities during the coronavirus pandemic.
It has already distributed relief to 800 of the targeted 1,000 families in eight districts from April 3 and 14, said a press release.
It distributed foods among families at Sakhipur of Tangail, Jamalpur, Dinajpur, Kishoreganj, Shariatpur, Madaripur, Faridpur and Nilphamari in the first phase.
Meanwhile, the organisation has started another programme of supporting 750 families with food items -- rice, lentil, potato, soybean and soap.
Grameen Shakti is set to provide the rest of the relief in Netrakona and Thakurgaon, the release said.
