Touted as the reshaping of education through 9 distinct trends to meet the demands of the 4th Industrial Revolution (that we are living through at present), Hasan Mahmud said it was essential to tackling the challenges of the 21st century.
Ernst & Young LLP, a global consultancy, and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, or FICCI, in a recent joint report have sought to explain the concept as “high-speed internet, mobile technology, social media platforms etc. facilitating personalized learning anytime anywhere and changing the role of teachers to facilitators and mentors.”
Education 4.0, a four-dimensional education system will be applied in the country.
Terming the Bengali nation as brave and wise, Hasan Mahmud said “The Bengali nation is capable of leading the world.”
The minister came up with the remarks while inaugurating the adoption of Education 4.0 by the National Defence College (NDC) in Mirpur, for which he lauded the institution.
He assured the NDC authority that the government will provide all kinds of assistance from its end for the successful implementation of what some are hailing as a revolution in how we think about education, as the first-movers in the country.
“The four-dimensional education system has become necessary after the fourth (Industrial) revolution or internet reached the industrial sector,” the Information Minister said.
The minister quoted very high numbers for the number of internet and mobile phone users in the country, nevertheless his point is taken that Education 4.0 stands to help large numbers of people in Bangladesh walk side-by-side with the global community, while also helping to create leadership.
