Dhaka, Apr 3 (UNB) – The High Court on Wednesday stayed for four weeks the effectivity of a notice issued by the Anti-Corruption Commission summoning Jatiya Party former secretary general Ruhul Amin Howlader for quizzing.
An HC bench of Justice Obaidul Hasan and Justice SM Kuddus Zaman passed the order after primary hearing on a writ filed challenging the notice.
Lawyer AM Amin Uddin stood for the petitioner while lawyer Khurshid Alam Khan for the ACC.
Following the HC order, Ruhul Amin Howlader won’t be needed to appear before the ACC on Thursday (April 4), said his lawyer.
Earlier on March 28, ACC deputy director Syed Ahmed issued the letter to Ruhul Amin to appear before it on April 4 for interrogation.
