A Khulna court on Monday sentenced a woman to ten years imprisonment in a narcotics case.
The convict is Fatema Begum, wife of Jahangir Sheikh of Pirojpur's Masimpur area.
Khulna Metropolitan Sessions Judge Mahmuda Khatun handed down the judgment.

The court also fined Fatema Tk 10,000, in default, to suffer six months more rigorous imprisonment, said Abul Kalam Azad, bench assistant of the court.
According to the prosecution, a team of police arrested Fatema along with 52 bottles of Phensedyl from Rupsa bus stand area of Khulna on July 23, 2019.

Parveen Akhter, inspector of the departmental intelligence branch of the Narcotics Control Directorate, filed a case under the Narcotics Control Act at Khulna police station.
On September 8, 2019, Mosaddek Hossain, sub-inspector (SI) of the Intelligence Branch of the Narcotics Control Directorate, submitted a charge sheet against the accused.
