Chattogram, Mar 30 (UNB) – The leaders and activists of BNP port city unit on Saturday observed a token hunger strike demanding immediate release of their chairperson Khaleda Zia from jail.
The hunger strike was staged in front of the party’s office at Nur Ahmed Road around 10 am and continued till 1 pm.
During the programme, BNP president of Chattogram city unit Dr Shahadat Hossain said the mother of democracy has been imprisoned so that the fascism of the Awami League regime doesn’t face any obstruction.
“Khaleda Zia is on the verge of life and death now… Being vengeance, the government restricting her treatment and release,” he said.
The leaders and activists of BNP, Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal, Jatiotabadi Chatra Dal, Jatiyatabadi Mohila Dal, Jatiyatabadi Sechchasebak Dal and other associated bodies of the party participated in the hunger strike.
