Replying to Bangladesh’s moderate first innings total of 253 for all featuring a century by Anamul Haque Bijoy (unbeaten 121) and Afif Hossain (50), the 2nd string Afghanistan team opened the first innings and scored 135 for 5 in 41 overs when the bails were drawn for the 2nd day (Saturday).
Earlier, national coloured batsman Bijoy pairing with Afif Hossain contributed 89 runs in the fifth wicket stand helping Bangladesh to set a fighting target.
Yamin Ahmadzai and Qais Ahmad claimed three wickets each, Naveen-ul-Haq picked up two and Sharafuddin Ashraf took one wicket for touring Afghanistan.
Two Afghan openers Usman Ghani (39) and Ibrahim Zadran (37) made a solid start adding 64 runs in their opening stand on day-2 (Saturday) before Bangladeshi medium-fast bowler Kamrul Islam Rabbi broke the pair removing Usman Ghani in the 16.3 overs.
In the second wicket-stand, Ibrahim Zadran along with Bahir Shah added 28 runs before his dismissal by left-arm orthodox bowler Sunzamul Islam in the 23.3 overs of the innings.
Sunzamul Islam picked up 3 wickets for 48 runs while Salahuddin Shakil and Kamrul Islam Rabbi took one wicket each for the 2nd string Bangladesh team.
