The Kolkata Test will begin on November 22.
Neither Bangladesh nor India have played any day-night Test before. India were proposed to play day-night Tests before but they refused to do so. But this time, newly-appointed BCCI President Sourav Ganguly proposed the day-night Test to Bangladesh.
“It’s a great opportunity to adapt to the day-night Test. India have never played a day-night Test before like us. So, it’ll be same for both the teams,” Russell Domingo, the head coach of Bangladesh team, told the media on Tuesday evening at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.
“Some of the players said they didn’t play with the pink-ball before. But it’s the same for India. So, we’re looking forward to play a Test against one of the best Test teams in the world under the lights in Kolkata,” Russell added.
Bangladesh will play three-match T20 series before heading to the two-match Test series. The first Test will take place in Indore from November 14 while the second one will be hosted by Kolkata from November 22.
