Bangladesh National Football team will play Afghanistan's national side in the first match of the two-match FIFA Tier-1 International Friendlies on Sunday as part of their preparation for next month's World Cup Qualifiers against the Maldives.
The match will kick off at 5:00 pm on Sunday at the Bashundhara Kings Arena in the capital.
The second and last match between the two teams will be held on September 7 at the same venue.
Bangladesh never won a match against the Afghan national side in their last six meetings since 2006. Afghanistan won twice, and the rest of the four matches between them ended in draws.
Ahead of Sunday's match, both teams held their final practise sessions at the match venue on Saturday afternoon.
The visiting Afghanistan team, which reached Dhaka on August 26, started their practises here the following day.
Bangladesh's national team started their training session on August 21 at the Bashundhara Kings arena, but Bangladesh captain Jamal Bhuyan joined the team's practise session team on Thursday (August 31) after returning to Dhaka from Argentina.
Jamal made a memorable debut in the Argentine league on August 27 to lead his new club "Sol de Mayo" to a 2-1 victory over Germinal, scoring a goal in the 81st from a penalty.
He is supposed to leave Dhaka for Argentina soon after playing the second FIFA International Friendly against Afghanistan on September 7 to play the next match of his Argentine team (Sol de Mayo) against Olimpo on September 9.
