Gazi won the toss and invited Shinepukur to bat first. They ended their stipulated 48 overs scoring 177 runs for nine wickets.
Shadman Islam and Delwar Hossain scored 40 runs each while Sabbir Hossain and Sohrawordi Shuvo added 24 and 30 respectively.
For Gazi, left-arm spinner Sanjit Saha bagged four wickets conceding 25 runs in 10 overs while Nasum Ahmed took two wickets.
While replying, Gazi lost the first wicket in the second ball of the innings. They lost another wicket in 6 runs.
Both of the first two wickets of Gazi were taken by Mustafizur Rahman. The left-arm pacer joined the premier league after a break of four years. And he enjoyed his comeback taking three scalps conceding 23 runs in 6.5 overs.
However, the initial damage was controlled by Mehedi Hasan and Shamsur Rahman. They added 46 runs in the third wicket stand.
Gazi scored 106 runs for four wickets in 21.5 overs just before the rain came back and stopped the match.
Eventually, Gazi won the match by 21 runs under the DL method, and Sanjit was the man of the match for his four-wicket haul.
It was Gazi’s fifth win in the league while Shinepukur suffered their fifth loss.
In the other match, Khelaghar Samaj Kallyan Samity stunned Brothers Union winning the game by 12 runs via the DL method in Fatullah.
Khelaghar won the toss and decided to field first. Brothers posted a challenging total of 267 runs in the match relying on the century of Fazle Mahmud. They lost the first wicket before adding anything on the board when Junaid Siddique failed to score.
However, in the second wicket stand, Fazle and Mizanur Rahman added 107 runs. Mizanur fell for 49 while Fazle ended up with 103 off 116 balls with seven fours and two sixes.
Along with them, Debabrata Das and Yasir Ali posted 45 and 47 respectively to ensure a challenging total.
For Khelaghar, Robiul Haque, Robiul Islam Robi, Tanvir Islam and Nasmu Ahmed took one wicket each.
While replying, Khelagar posted 80 for one wicket in 20 overs before the game was stopped by the rain.
Shahriar Komol was the only Khelaghar batsman to be dismissed. He posted 21 off 23. Robiul Islam Robi and Mahidhul Islam Ankon were unbeaten on 39 and 21 respectively.
In the end, match referee Raqibul Hasan awarded the match to Khelaghar under the DL method. They won the game by 12 runs.
Fazle Mahmud was awarded the man of the match for his sixth List-A ton.
It was the third win of Khelaghar in the league so far while Brothers suffered the eighth loss in 10 rounds.
