Harry Tector hit a century and George Dockrell smashed an unbeaten half-century as Ireland posted a challenging total of 319 for six wickets in 45 overs in the second ODI against Bangladesh in Chelmsford on Friday.
The match was delayed by three hours due to wet weather.
Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bowl first under overcast conditions. Hasan Mahmud struck twice in the first powerplay to reduce Ireland to 16 for two.
However, Tector and captain Andrew Balbirnie put on a 98-run stand for the third wicket to steady the innings. Tector scored 140 off 112 balls, hitting seven fours and 10 sixes, while Balbirnie made 42.
Dockrell then came in and smashed 74 off 47 balls, hitting three fours and four sixes, to help Ireland post a competitive total.
The first match of the three-match series was washed out due to rain. The third and final match will be played on May 14th at the same venue.
