The match, which will kick off at 6pm, will be telecast live by Gtv and Rabbitholebd YouTube channel.
On their way to the final, Sheikh Jamal beat Shinepukur Cricket Club in the semifinals by five wickets whereas Prime Doleshwahr bettered Prime Bank Cricket Club by six wickets.
Both of the teams were imperious in the group stage as well. Sheikh Jamal won both of their matches in group leg against Khelaghar Samaj Kallyan Samity and Uttara Sporting Club.
Prime Doleshwar lost one tied match to Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan by super-over. Despite that shocking defeat, Prime Doleshwar stormed the final with two consecutive wins against Gazi Group Cricketers and Prime Bank.
Ahead of the final, both of the finalists are upbeat to the clinch the title. The captains of both of the teams on Sunday expressed a similar goal while talking to the media after unveiling the trophy at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
“It’s a big tournament for all of us ahead of the 50-over format of Dhaka League. It really feels nice to make the final in this sort of tournament where every team was strong and competitive. As professional cricketers, we’ve given our best for our team and now, we’ll certainly love to win the tournament,” said Nurul Hasan Sohan, the captain of Sheikh Jamal.
Sheikh Jamal made it to the final depending on a fiery knock by Ziaur Rahman, who struck 72 off 29 balls in the semifinal.
Nurul Hasan said the knock boosted the confidence of the team.
“It’s tough to win a high-scoring game if you lose some early wickets. But, we’ve won the game (against Prime Bank) with the help of (Zia) in spite of losing early wickets. However, we’re not thinking about what we did. Instead of that, we’re planning on the next game,” Nurul Hasan further said.
Farhad Reza, the captain of Prime Doleshwar, said Sheikh Jamal would be a tough opponent for them in the final.
“They’re a very good team. They have Zia bhai and a number of few more power-hitters. But instead of thinking about them, we’re planning about what we can do in the final,” Farhad told the reporters.
The spectators will enjoy a free entry to Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the final, Towhid Mahmud, the in-charge of Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis (CCDM), confirmed this while talking to UNB on Sunday. He also said Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Nazmul Hasan Papon will be present at the final.
