In the ongoing Bangabandhu BPL, Taskin has played three matches but failed to grasp any wicket.
The 24-year-old pacer has been playing for Ranger Rangers in the BPL, which are currently at the bottom of the points table. They played six matches so far but managed only a win.
“I didn’t get a chance in the playing XI in the last three games. But I am not worried about it. It’s also a part of the career. If I get chance in the remaining matches, I will try my best to do well,” Taskin told the media on Sunday at BCB Academy ground.
“I played three matches in this BPL but couldn’t get any wicket. But I am not to sit down and regret that. I am trying to improve with practice,” he added.
In the first game of the season against Cumilla Warriors, Taskin bowled two overs and conceded 23 runs. In the next game, he conceded 14 runs in one over against Chattogram Challengers. In the third game against Khulna Tigers, the right-arm pacer bowled three overs and conceded 39 runs but failed to take any wicket.
This poor display prompted the team management not to consider him in the next three games of the Rangers.
“To be honest, I have bowled some loose deliveries in Chattogram which were hit to the boundary. Most of the bowlers were expensive in Chattogram as the wicket was so friendly with the batsmen. But I don’t want to show excuse now. In the end, it was my failure,” Taskin told the media.
With only two points from the six games, Rangers are on the risk of being ruled out from the race of the playoffs. In their next league-phase games, Rangers will take on Sylhet Thunder, Rajshahi Royals and Dhaka Platoon. Rangers will have two matches against the each team.
