Pakistan decided to bat first after winning the toss and scored 126 for 7 in stipulated 20 overs, featuring 60 runs in the 3rd wicket stand by captain Bismah Maroof and Umaima Sohail.
After the departure of two openers cheaply for 15 runs, one down Bismah Maroof pairing with number four Umaima Sohail repaired the early damage contributing 60 runs.
Bismah Maroof played a captain’s knock innings of 34 runs off 29 balls hitting five fours and was adjudged player of the match.
Her partner Aliya Riaz scored 36-ball 33 runs with four boundaries, number five Iram Javed scored 17-ball 21 runs featuring one four and two sixes while Sidra Nawas quick-fired unbeaten 16 runs off just five balls hitting four fours.
Jahanara Alam grabbed four Pakistani wickets for 17 runs while Rumana Ahmed, Lata Mondal and Panna Ghosh took one wicket apiece.
In reply, Bangladesh fought for their existence, riding on a half century by middle order Rumana Ahmed, but were forced to fold their innings at 112 runs for 7 in quota 20 overs.
After the dismissal of two openers cheaply for just six runs in 2.2 overs, one down Sanjida Islam partnering with Nigar Sultana contributed 34 runs in the 3rd wicket stand.
Sanjida scored 29-ball 14 runs with a boundary while Nigar Sultana added 30-ball 17 runs, also with a boundary.
Later, number five batter Rumana Ahmed tried her best to reach their target, quick-firing 30-ball 50 runs with six fours and two sixes, but all the hope of Bangladesh was shattered after the dismissal of Rumana in 19.3 overs.
Anam Amin claimed two Bangladesh wickets conceding 13 runs.
The remaining two T20 matches between the two teams will be held on October 28 and 30 ahead of the two-match one-day series on November 2 and 4, all at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
