Dhaka, July 3 (UNB) - Bangladesh’s premier archer Mohammad Ruman Shana advanced to the round of 16 in the men’s recurve singles on the 2nd day of ongoing Archery World Cup, Stage-4 at Maifield in Berlin on Wednesday.
Shana will now face Brady Ellison of the USA on Thursday at 2:15 pm (BdST).
On the day, Shana defeated Rajan Kalapurayil of Switzerland in the round of 48 and Nomura Tsubasa of Japan in the round of 24, both by the identical scoreline of 6 sets to 2.
In the women’s recurve singles, Bangladesh’s Beauty Roy lost to Alexandra Mirca of Moldova 6 sets to love in the round of 24.
Beauty had advanced to the round defeating Mehak Sangani of Sri Lanka 6 sets to 2 in the round of 48.
Bangladesh mixed doubles team, comprising Shana and Beauty, were eliminated from the round of 12 of the recurve mixed teams event, going down 5 sets to 1 against Alen Remar and Tihana Kovacic of Croatia.
