Dhaka, Aug 8 (UNB) – Bangladesh Standard Testing Institution (BSTI) has sued three business institutions in the city’s and realised Tk 2.10 lakh in fine from them for cheating in weighing.
Separate BSTI teams conducted drives at Gulshan and Mohammadpur areas on Thursday and fined the three institutions, according to a press release1.
Messers A Ahmed Traders of DCC market, Gulshan-1 was fined Tk 10,000 for not having BSTI verification certificate .
Besides, Messers Dark Dairy farm of Mohammardpur area was fined Tk 1,50,000 for not having expiry dates on cake, biscuit and mustard oil and for cheating in weighing .
Messers Bengal farm house was fined Tk 50,000 as it didn’t have BSTI verification certificate in its weighing machine.
