Indian Army handed over 10 trained dogs to Bangladesh Army through Benapole chekpost as gift on Saturday.
Col Keshab Jadav of Chasara Army Camp handed over the dogs to Col Anwar Hossain and Let Col Mizanur Rahman of Bangladesh Army.
Mizanur Rahman, Benapole BGB camp commander, said the dogs were brought to Kolkata’s Cashara Army Camp from Miraat Army Camp in India first and then handed over to Bangladesh Army from Petrapole BSF Camp.
A total of 30 trained dogs will be given to Bangladesh Army as gift and this is the first lot, he added.
He also said these trained dogs are capable of detecting drugs and criminals, he added.
