The demands of Pragatisheel Chhatra Jote (PCJ) and Anti-imperialist Students’ Alliance also include ensuring a congenial political atmosphere on the campus and at residential halls, and freedom of speech for all, stopping torture on students at guestrooms, ensuring seat allocation from first year and bringing the polling booths under CCTV surveillance.
Activists of the two alliances brought out a procession from the Madhur Canteen around 12:30pm which paraded important points, including Arts Faculty and TSC, on the campus.
Later, they took position at in front of the office VC Prof M Akhtaruzzaman for around two hours.
Speaking on the occasion, Chhatra Union president GM Jilani Shuvo alleged that the DU administration is working in favour of a specific student organisation. “They haven’t yet taken any step to ensure a democratic environment at residential halls."
Chhatra union general secretary Liton Nandi, Socialistic Students’ Front general secretary Nasiruddin Prince and Chhatra Front president Golam Mostafa were present with Revolutionary Students’ Unity president Iqbal Kabir in the chair.
