KOICA, ICT Division, Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC), a2i and Local Government Division (LGD) inaugurated a training session for municipality officers at the BCC auditorium in the city on Wednesday as part of the digital municipality services system.
Currently, a total of 10 municipality offices will get these facilities on a pilot basis.
Country Director of KOICA Joe Hyun-Gue, Secretary of ICT Division NM Ziaul Alam, Executive Director of BCC Partha Pratim Deb, officials and experts were, among others, present.
The “Digital Municipality Service System” is a pilot project under the KOICA supported “Establishment of the e-Government Master Plan for Digital Bangladesh” project which was initiated in 2014 with the grant assistant of US$ 3.2 million.
The project’s aim is to establish a digital platform in municipality sector to manage all types of resources in an organised, effective and efficiency way and provide one-stop fast and accurate services to the people of Bangladesh, KOICA says.
KOICA hoped that the newly developed service system will open new horizons for Bangladesh by making available of the easy process of getting public services like property management, online councilor certificate, holding tax, water bill etc. within a single system and the citizens would get all services through online, also by mobile devices.
