In Gopalganj, three people were killed and Monir Hossain, 35, sub-inspector of Rajoir Police Station was injured as two motor-cycles collided head-on at Debgram on Kotalipara-Rajoir road around 12pm.
The deceased were - Emdadul Haque, 30, a computer operator of Kashiani Police station, Ranjit Biswas, 27, son of Sachin Biswas and Pero Halder, 22, residents of Kachikata village in Kotalipara upazila.
Sheikh Lutfar Rahman, officer-in-charge of Kotalipara police station, said that the accident left two people dead on the spot and two others critically injured.
The injured Pero and Monir were taken to Gopalganj Sadar Hospital where Pero succumbed to his injuries, he said.
In Panchagarh, two motorcyclists Rajib Islam, 22, son of Amir Hossain, of Sipaipara area and Anisur Rahman, son of Mosarraf Hossain, of Chaturagach area of Tetulia upazila, were also killed in a head-on collision between two vehicles in Nazrul Sarani area on Tetulia-Banglabandha highway.
Abdul Kadir Zilani, sub-inspector of Tetulia Highway police station, confirmed the incident.
