“We’ll join the election, but a level-playing field must be ensured for all. The President and Election Commission must understand that those who are involved in the election process are no longer under the government,” he said.
Speaking at a programme at Mohanagar Natya Mancha, B Chowdhury further said, “So, the Commission must exercise its full authority. Or else, history won’t forgive them.”
He also urged the President to give the EC proper directions to ensure a neutral election.
Juktafront arranged the programme where some political parties and lawyers joined the alliance.
The Juktafront chief also urged the authorities concerned to ensure press freedom so that all journalists can work independently and without any fear.
He alleged that Bikolpa Dhara Bangladesh presidium member Golam Reza’s motorcade came under attack in Mirpur on his way to the Mohanagar Natya Mancha to attend the programme.
B Chowdhury strongly condemned the attackers.
