On the second day of the Dhaka Test, Ireland found themselves in a difficult position after losing four wickets in quick succession during their second innings against Bangladesh.

At the end of the day, they could score 27 runs for four wickets in 17 overs, with Harry Tector and Peter Moor remaining unbeaten on 8 and 10 runs, respectively.

Bangladesh took a 155-run lead after posting 369 runs in response to Ireland's first innings total of 214.

Shakib Al Hasan gave Bangladesh the first breakthrough by dismissing James McCollum for a duck. After that, he also removed Curtis Campher. Taijul Islam picked up two wickets.

Mushfiqur Rahim scored a century in Bangladesh's first innings; Shakib added 87 runs to the scoreboard. Andy McBrine took six wickets for Ireland in Bangladesh's first innings, becoming the first Irish spinner to take five or more wickets in a Test innings.

In their first innings, Harry Tector scored a half-century for Ireland, but they were outplayed by Taijul Islam who took five wickets, recording his 11th five-for in Tests.
