Dhaka, May 5 (UNB) - Three players shared the top slot in Category A of the Late Dr Abul Kashem Chowdhury International Rating Chess Tournament-2019 securing full two points after the 2nd round matches at the conference-room and Chess Federation hall-room of National Sports Council (Old Building) on Sunday.

The leaders are: GM Ziaur Rahman, GM Enamul Hossain Razib and FM Mohammad Fahad Rahman of SAIF Sporting Club. 

Five players earned 1.5 points each to share the 2nd position. They are: IM Mohammad Minhaz Uddin, FM Kh. Aminul Islam, Md. Abu Hanif, Mohammad Jamal Uddin and Sonkalan Bharati of India. 

In Category A matches, GM Zia beat FM Mehdi Hasan Parag, GM Razib beat Abdul Momin, FM Fahad beat FM Mohammad Javed, IM minhaz beat Nayem Haque, FM Kh. Aminul drew with Sonkalan, Hanif drew with FM Sk. Nasir Ahmed and Jamal beat Mohammad Aminul Islam. 

A total of 36 players are sharing top slot in the Category B of the tournament also securing maximum 2 points from the 2nd round matches on Sunday.

The 3rd round matches of both the categories will be held on Monday (May 6) from 3:pm at the same venues.
