New Zealand lead the series 1-0 as they outplayed the touring side in the first Test of the series by an innings and 52 runs in Hamilton. Along with the pacer-duo- Neil Wagner and Trent Boult, the Kiwi captain Kane Williamson performed well in the first match.
While Wagner and Boult registered five-wicket haul in the first and second innings of Bangladesh, Williamson struck his second Test double-ton in the only innings of New Zealand.
Heading to the second Test, Bangladesh’s biggest challenge is to bounce back to stay alive in the series. But the persistent rain raised the question mark to the possible result in Wellington.
After losing two successive days to rain, it is unlikely to see a result in the second Test of the series which still to observe a toss performed by the captains of both teams.
Unlike the day one, there was a hope of hosting at least a session on day two at 4pm local time. But the rain came again, and the last hope faded away. The players from both teams were warming up, but at the end of the day, they went back to the dressing room without taking any part in the match.
