The police chief also emphasized monitoring the cases till completion of the trial.
The IGP issued the directive while addressing a quarterly crime review meeting held at the conference room of the Police Headquarters. The meeting was attended by senior officials of the police headquarters, DIGs, Metropolitan Commissioners and District Superintendents of Police.
"We are working with the aim of winning the people’s trust in the police stations. You have to treat people who come to the police station better as well as ensure service delivery. People have to be kept involved in policing work,” the IGP said, adding that everyone must be active to create a positive perception about the police among the people.
During the meeting, DIG (Crime Management) YM Belalur Rahman of Police Headquarters reviewed the overall crime situation for the 3 months from July-September.
The meeting also inaugurated the new website of the Anti-Terrorism Unit and the Apps Inform ATU. The cover of the journal of Bangladesh Police Academy was also unveiled.
